Position Description:

The talent, dedication and spirit of PIMCO's people are the most important factors in our success as a global investment solutions provider over the last four decades. PIMCO's Global Wealth Management division is currently seeking an Alternatives Account Associate to join our team.

The mission of an Alternatives Account Associate ("AAA"), working in close partnership with a field-based Alternatives Account Managers ("AAM"), is to support the growth and success of our alternatives business from both a sales and a service perspective.

Location: This position is available in NYC

What you'll do:

  • Have a real passion for, and remain well-informed on, the financial markets (especially alternative investments), the global economic environment, asset allocation, investment vehicles and the overall financial services industry
  • Work with Alts Sales, Strategic Accounts and Marketing to build campaigns around our alternative investment offerings
  • Be a subscription expert, with the goal of stream-lining the subscription process, creating a better FA/Client experience
  • Manage materials on our dedicated sites to ensure we are providing our AMs and FAs the most relevant and up to date marketing materials
  • Manage data from internal and external resources to generate alts leads for the alts sales team and for our field AMs.
  • Manage the mapping & delivery of books out reporting for our various products across all partner firms
  • Leverage internal databases to provide Alts Sales with more visibility into flows & activities so we can better understand our business (including areas of strength and weakness) and be more deliberate in our activity
  • Help to build data deep dives for individual territories and divisions, help AMs & Alts Sales to ID prospects and areas of potential growth for our Alts business
  • Work with Fund Operations and home office to streamline the many service-related questions
  • Assist Alts Sales in producing all internal communications
  • Help to coordinate AM/AA training, including Podcasts, Brainsharks and material preparation
  • Assist with buildout of Alts Education curriculum and materials
  • Confidently provide relevant market insight, product information, investment ideas and sales support to our field AMs
  • Recognize ongoing training and continuing education are critical to cultivating the strongest client relationships. Numerous AAs have attained CFA, CIMA, CAIA, and other industry designations with firm support
  • Be ready to make a difference on the team by participating in department meetings, engaging colleagues across different PIMCO functions, participating and leading working groups, sharing unique ideas, fully utilizing continuous mentoring and training, etc.
  • Develop a long-term career with PIMCO, with the potential to serve clients and the firm in various ways over time. A number of experienced and dedicated AAs have transitioned to account management, strategic accounts, and client-facing roles in other distribution channels
