Assistant Vice President (Pricing Capital Markets)

Position Summary
The Assistant Vice President (Pricing) is responsible for managing the Capital Markets pricing desk with activities related to pricing, trading, and funding of GSE MBS/Whole-loans, FHA multifamily MBS, and CMBS Whole-loans originated by the company to the secondary market, and will provide various sales support activities to the firm's origination platform. The AVP will undergo training to provide full time back-up duties to the trading platform. The AVP must demonstrate a keen ability for organization, focus on details, and a sharp analytical orientation, and possess the initiative to work in a fast pace environment in a reliable manner.

Essential Job Functions

  • Uses internal pricing models to calculate mortgage rates daily in accordance with internal policy.
  • Posts daily pricing internally and distribute to organization.
  • Researches and obtain current bond market information via Bloomberg and other tools:
    • Current treasury yields
    • Swap spreads
    • DUS/GNMA MBS & CMBS spreads
    • Agency Debentures
    • Recent economic news & commentary
  • Calculates and delivers customized pricing quotes to originators and underwriters.
  • Tracks quotes in excel based database & Maintenance of Trade Logs.
  • Creates and maintains both hard and electronic "pricing" files for all loans in the pipeline.
  • Responsible for assembling the documentation and approvals from internal parties required for rate lock and follow up and review on Trade and rate lock confirmations.
  • Responsible for wire transfer tracking on deposits, broker fees, and other.
  • Assists in providing full time phone and email coverage of the pricing desk.
  • Assists in creating and updating weekly and monthly marketing material for originations staff.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration required.

Experience and Qualifications
  • Minimum of four to five years related experience in pricing, trading, and funding of loans.
  • Possess an aptitude for finance and a keen understanding of the overall Capital Markets.
  • Knowledge of Bloomberg software is a plus, with a proficiency in Microsoft Excel required.
  • Financial Modeling capability required.
  • The ability to perform financial analysis including interest calculations, Servicing and Loss Sharing calculations, and arbitrage modeling required.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and analyze a variety of concrete variables where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and industry guidelines.
  • Strong presentation skills and the ability to respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and the general public is required.
  • Willingness to work longer hours as required.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
