Associate Director - North America Light Olefins

General Job Duties: The successful individual will provide thought leadership on the olefins markets relating to supply, demand, price and economics. The individual will be responsible for working with existing spreadsheets, models, and databases and interfacing with other IHSMarkit reseachers concerning upstream feedstocks (naphtha, NGLs) and downstream olefins derivatives. Conveying market information in the form of written reports, studies, and presentations is a key part of the job along with interfacing with clients/potential clients.

Specific Job Duties:

Understand and maintain ongoing knowledge of the fundamental drivers and outlook for olefins markets particularly ethylene and primarily in North and South America but a general understanding globally of these markets is required as well.
Provide ongoing analysis of the North and South America olefins markets for IHS Chemical related services
Work with other IHS researchers and become one of IHS Chemical's internal and external focal points for understanding and providing insight on the North and South America olefins markets.
Provide routine and unbiased written analyses for monthly and annual analysis.
Contribute previous experience, knowledge, insights, and analysis into sustainable, profitable IHSMarkit Chemical services.
Build and nourish relationships with key industry contacts that utilize or could benefit from IHS Markit Chemical services. Pursue face-to-face client industry contacts and provide presentations to market IHSMarkit Chemical capabilities.
Actively pursue and develop unique analytical approaches that provide value to IHSMarkit clients and/or potential clients.
Maintain a fundamental working knowledge of the IHSMarkit Chemical basic model templates of supply/demand (short-term and long-term formats), econometric price forecasts, and trade grids.
Contribute to semi-annual global long-term supply/demand process for assigned products
Monitor production capacity changes and assure maintenance of IHSMarkit Chemical's capacity database for assigned products in your region
Drive commercial efforts to expand and retain client base for IHSMarkit products via speaking engagements, webinars and personal visits.
Identify and make contact with target accounts to expand Light Olefins subscription base, in collaboration with IHSMarkit Chemical Sales.
Maintain current presentation slide decks for own use and sharing with global colleagues.
Provide support for private studies work, especially in the areas of light olefins and olefin derivatives.
Mentor junior level personnel within the team and organization.
