Fitch Ratings is currently looking for a Business Analyst to work with Fitch Ratings development groups to:
  • Develop a deep understanding of Fitch Ratings applications and processes
  • Review, analyze, and evaluate development operations and needs
  • Develop requirements and supporting specifications that meet the development needs, as well as providing efficient workflows and usability recommendations
  • Provide for the interpretation, synthesis, and translation of business and systems requirements throughout the development lifecycle
  • Gather and synthesize business requirements and translate into functional and technical requirements to be used as input to the design
  • Perform data querying and analysis to support feasibility of solutions
  • Support and contribute to unit and regression functional testing
  • Consult with users to document current operating procedures, processes, and workflow
  • Apply business and IT knowledge as a basis to drive optimal technology and business solutions
  • Gather training and user documentation requirements
  • Facilitate communication among product management, project management and IT to ensure buy-in and an understanding of project objectives, scope changes, and requirements
  • Participate effectively in internal and/or external meetings and remain cognizant of serving both as IT's representative to product development and vice versa
  • Excellent time management capabilities for handling concurrent assignments

Required Skills
  • Bachelor's degree and at least 3-5 years of demonstrated experience in business and technical requirement analysis, working with distributed teams
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as a part of a distributed team
  • Ability to evaluate relevant technology-related problems in a timely, orderly and insightful manner
  • Full understanding of the principal areas of assigned business group rating methodology and business process
  • Ability to take responsibility for defining, communicating, and gathering requirements for IT-related projects
  • Strong understanding of SCRUM methodologies
  • Full understanding of IT development and documentation processes, and the ability to apply and enforce them within assigned business group
  • Knowledge of industry, market, issuer/company and issuer developments in assigned sector
  • Ability to prioritize competing needs and meet established deadlines
  • Ability to evaluate and form opinions about relevant issues
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office applications, including Project and Visio
  • Basic SQL skills

Beneficial Skills
  • Familiarity with SOX and Dodd-Frank regulations
  • Experience in the Financial Services industry
  • Experience with data feeds, web services or web-based applications is a plus
  • Experience with iterative and Waterfall development methodologies
  • Experience with Jira
  • Experience with Project Management
