Business Analyst/Project Manager - Fixed Income Technology, Markets

Fixed Income Technology, Markets, is responsible for supporting all front to back needs for the Fixed Income trading area in the markets division of BNY Mellon. The markets division is responsible for all capital markets and market making activities within BNY Mellon, globally. Fixed Income Technology includes Government, Corporate, Municipal, Agency, High Yield and MBS trading.

Role Description

As a member of the Fixed Income Technology team, you will engage with front, middle and back office stakeholders, as well as with technology leads within markets technology and beyond.

Your responsibility will cover:

- Take projects from inception to execution, defining initial plan and actively managing on-going delivery

- Plan and execute changes across all involved functions - technology, business, operations

- Negotiate plan scope and effort to meet business outcomes in the most effective matter

- Work with the business to structure different business requirements into a prioritized set of requirements, with estimates

- Manage client expectations and ensure project delivery in conformance with company software development life cycle methodologies

- Engage with onshore and offshore technology resources to meet objectives.

Key projects in 2018 and 2019 include:

- Expansion of electronic price aggregation and trading capabilities including in-house developed systems as well as 3rd party systems such as Broadway, Axe Trading and Algomi

- Enhanced business reporting capabilities to FI management team

- Increased business continuity capabilities, improved resiliency and recovery of multiple STP services

- Consolidation of vendor provided STP services into an in-house developed solution

- Migration of in-house grid computation capabilities to Cloud

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business or technical-related discipline, or equivalent work experience required, advanced degree preferred
  • 10-12 years of experience in providing consulting advice to senior IT and business management required
  • Solid business knowledge in Fixed Income products
  • Bloomberg services/TOMS
  • Strong communication skills
  • Technical acumen - ability to equally work with software engineers and trading/sales people
  • Must work well in a high pressure environment with multiple deliverables in progress
  • Experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus
