CIB - Wholesale Payments - Business Transformation - VP / ED
Wholesale Payments (WP)Business Transformation is a strategic and execution-focused group that worksclosely with the teams selling, developing and creating Wholesale Paymentsproducts, including consumer-to-business payments, B2B payments, liquidity andcash management, FX, trade finance and more. Wholesale Payments sits at theintersection of finance and technology and is one of the largest players(processing $6 trillion of payments a day) in an industry undergoing a majortransformation.

Business Transformation supportssenior leadership on a program basis, addressing topics at the top of theirstrategic agendas. Programs are typically team-based and include heavyinteraction and collaboration with senior executives within Wholesale Paymentsand across JPMorgan. The group reports directly to the Head of WholesalePayments.

The key responsibilities ofthe group include:

  • Work with senior business leaders to design, define and agree on future objectives, strategies and deliverables and ensure prioritization;
  • Drive ownership and shepherd execution of key initiatives;
  • Ensure alignment, provide oversight and drive the rhythm of prioritized initiatives and strategies that cut across product, functional and geographic areas

We are seeking a VicePresident or Executive Director to join the group and help define businessgrowth strategies, lead strategic initiatives across businesses (includingother LOBs) and solve complex problems and execution issues critical to WP. Theposition offers an excellent opportunity to gain a comprehensive understanding ofthe Wholesale Payments universe, build leadership skills and advance to otherroles in Wholesale Payments or across the firm.

Specific capabilitiesrequired for the position include:

  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, including the ability to work with colleagues at all levels as a peer and achieve goals without direct control over resources
  • Comfortable handling complex projects and working effectively with cross-LOB stakeholders
  • Strong end-to-end problem solving skills, e.g.,
    • Define, frame and deconstruct large, business-wide problems
    • Prioritize issues, analysis and team capacity
    • Structure and build quantitative and qualitative/conceptual analyses
    • Perform competitor/industry research leveraging both public and non-public sources
    • Identify implications and drive to major decisions with solid rationale
  • Articulate and concise communication skills, with experience speaking to senior management


  • 4 years management consulting, investment banking or corporate strategyexperience
  • Paymentsexperience preferred; wholesale banking and B2B payments background is a plus
  • Trackrecord of managing work teams with high marks on mentorship and coaching
  • Outstandingability to analyze problems, apply quantitative analytical approaches,communicate effectively and confidently (oral and written)
  • Distinctiveproblem solving skills; able to break down and structure complex problems
  • Abilityto influence across business lines, cultures, functions; drive results withoutdirect control
  • Strongproject and process management skills
  • Opento an environment of active developmental feedback from peers
  • Excellentcommand of MS Excel and PowerPoint; familiar with analytical and datavisualization tools (e.g., Tableau, R, SAS, etc.)
