Due to the expansion of the US business and in anticipation of new products and services to be launched, the Company is hiring a Financial Control Manager to provide execution leadership as well as to manage the junior staff in Financial Control department.

Job Description

  • Process journal entries, perform variance analyses, ensure accuracy of accounting records, and prepare monthly financial statements and reporting package;
  • Prepare periodic regulatory reports, such as Focus Report & SSOI, assist in monitoring regulatory capital position of the related entities and communicate with regulators;
  • Develop accounting policies and procedures, and establish internal controls to meet the changing needs of the business;
  • Coordinate with external service providers on corporate audits, tax return preparations, regulatory examinations and other consulting projects;
  • Participate in various discussions and projects, interact with senior management and relevant stakeholders, and provide advice on product development, process improvement and rules and regulations assessment;
  • Assist in testing and implementing the Company’s systems;
  • Participate in treasury function such as capital and petty cash management;
  • Review daily process for trading and settlement data;
  • Provide training and guidance to junior employees.

 

Skills and Abilities

  • Must have an in-depth understanding of the US GAAP and regulations for US broker dealers;
  • Strong numerical skills and be able to handle and analyze large volume of data;
  • Able to work independently, under pressure and meet strict deadlines;
  • Excellent communication skill in Mandarin and English;
  • Good team player with excellent inter-personal skills;
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills (VBA a plus);
  • Knowledge of Oracle Financial is preferred;
  • Knowledge of life-cycle of stock operations functions in HK and the US is an advantage;
  • Any prior experience in system implementation and operations is a plus.

 

Qualifications

  • FINRA Series 7 & 99 licenses (preferred or can obtain within a reasonable period of time) 
  • More than 5 years  of Financial services accounting experience and Big 4 is a plus
  • B.S. or B.A. in Accounting or Finance is required; CPA preferred (MBA is desirable)
