New $2Bil+ Private Equity/Credit Firm is looking for an exceptional "hands on" Chief Technology Officer/Data Scientist to build out the data analytics team, software engineers and computer science/IT group.
The firm will be investing in PE, real estate, infrastructure, credit/ distressed credit, alternatives.This is a critical hire and a high profile role.
Individual will be instrumental in building and managing a 10+ headcount data/technology group from scratch. The ability to architect this group as you see fit is a huge plus.
The CTO will:
-Work with Data Analytics team, have engineers and data scientists clean and scrub, and do all firms own back-testing – with overlap with mathematics/statistics so they can analyze linear an non-linear regressions and cross correlations. This will be a large team.
-Oversee Software engineers and CS professionals: this is everything from in house development of systems and info, scoring system, backlog, etc. To also developing bespoke applications for stakeholders and technology team.
-Work with acquisitions, asset and portfolio management teams on new IT implementation procedures to maximize cash margin potential. Be able to bring in right teams, oversee and ensure QA, with testing.
-Work with strategy, programmers, software engineers and network engineers for corporate and business development purposes, as well as strategic.
- The more that can be automated, the better! This will be a never ending challenge
Potential candidates must have:
Proven experience as head of technology with a PE/ Credit /Real Estate Investment Firm/ Hedge Fund.
Proven experience managing a team of both Data Analytical teams, software engineers and developers
Proven experience managing complex custom software development, systems infrastructure and data projects from inception to implementation
Proven experience providing strategic planning for an investment firms IT department.
Proven experience with or have knowledge of Microsoft C#, C++ Unix/Linux, R, Python, non-linear equations, etc
Must have 10+ years in a senior technology leadership role with an asset manager, hedge fund or investment manager
