Client Workspace Engineer

The Client Workspace Engineering will work within End User Services, Client Engineering, and the Remote team. The team is responsible for the engineering and supporting the firm's Desktop Workspace across physical, virtual and cloud platforms, including Windows OS, hardware integration, configuration management, application delivery, Citrix XenDesktop / XenApp, Netscaler Remote Access, RSA MFA and Windows 10 IoT Dell WMS Thin client technologies.

We are looking for a seasoned Citrix and Windows desktop engineer to help us build, implement and support the next generation of enterprise computing workspace. Our vision includes end user desktops being treated as mostly disposable platforms, lightly managed devices whether on premise physical / VDI or off premise, cloud hosted.

Principal Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support/system administration and engineering third and fourth level production for enterprise (multi region) Citrix environment with components such as XenDesktop. XenApp, Storefront, RSA and NetScaler.
  • Analyzes performance data to provide resources utilization information in support of operational process.
  • Analyzes, plans test, documents and implements regular, advanced or special maintenance activities of systems hardware and software to meet service level agreements with users groups.
  • Employ automation and rigorous QA methodologies to ensure the delivery of a consistent and reliable service.
  • Maintenance, lifecycle and capacity management of the underlying Citrix infrastructure.
  • Strong skills troubleshoot and resolve support issues pertaining to Citrix XenApp, XenDesktop and NetScaler.
  • Assist with on boarding of new application in the Citrix XenApp environment.
  • Participate in the firm's change, incident, and problem management processes.
  • Create and maintain knowledge base, configuration and support documentation.


Qualifications and Required Skills
  • Deep technical understanding and hands-on engineering experience building and deploying Windows images, integrating Windows desktop operating systems, up to, and including Windows 10 and Windows 2016.
  • 10+ years of experience with Citrix technologies covering administration, maintenance, and deployments in an enterprise engineering role.
  • Thorough knowledge of Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop technologies.
  • Good knowledge of Citrix NetScaler with Insight/Command Center and NMAS.
  • Good knowledge of Citrix StoreFront multi region.
  • Strong troubleshooting mind-set (i.e. parsing event log, Sysinternals tools, dump analysis).
  • Experience supporting multi-factor technologies (e.g. RSA).
  • Experience integrating the latest Windows 10 features including Windows 'hello'.
  • Expert scripting ability with PowerShell and programming experience with .NET, C#, C++.
  • Extensive experience with third party management tools in large-scale environments including Symantec Altiris, Citrix XenApp / XenDesktop, InTune and Dell WMS.
  • Engineering experience with images, packages and policies for Win 10 IoT thin clients with Dell WMS.
  • Good knowledge of delivering stateless desktops with streamed application or layered applications using Citrix App Layering or similar technologies.
  • Thorough understanding and experience of common native Windows infrastructure components and configuration management I.e. Active Directory / GPO.
  • Knowledge of software packaging tools (e.g. InstallShield, App-V sequencer, Wise).
  • Experience supporting multi-factor technologies (e.g. RSA).
  • Additional knowledge will help such as Systrack, UPM, App-v, login VSI and Office 2016.
  • Quick learner, detail oriented; demonstrate thoroughness and strong ownership of work.
  • Excellent team-working, collaboration and inter-personal skills.
