The Role:

S&P Global Corporate Policy Intern

The Location:

New York, NY (55 Water Street, New York, NY)

The Team:

You are part of a global team which oversees the development, governance, training and communications for S&P Global's corporate policies and code of ethics for all of divisions.

The Impact:

The intern will support the Corporate Policy Functions efforts to develop, amend, and communicate corporate polices. This will include researching and reviewing of policies, maintaining our policies and governance documents on our internal intranet, external sites and policy management systems In addition, the position will support the administration of the Code of Ethics Affirmation process to new hire employees globally as well as the non-employee population. Furthermore, the intern will provide project support for the function's efforts to enhance attestation, inquiry, exemption and reporting capabilities for corporate policies, working with select members of the Global Compliance team.

Areas of work include:
  • Provide support for Corporate Policy Committee
  • Analyze Corporate Policies and make recommendations for updates/changes
  • Process development of Policy distribution and attestation to employees and contractors
  • Maintain our policy management systems and intranet portal
  • Research best practices in the areas of policy governance and ethics
  • Provide well thought out recommendations based on research
  • Assist in the development of Compliance communications and training

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct research, and analysis, on Corporate Policies
  • Complete final Intern Project Presentation
  • Assist on research, publications, presentations, and special projects

Qualifications:
  • This program is limited to persons with indefinite right to work in the United States
  • Ideal candidates will be undergraduate students graduating in Spring 2020 or first year law or graduate students
  • Preferred majors in, political science/international affairs, law, or a similar field with exposure to quantitative analysis and forecasting preferred
  • Experience in conducting and interpreting research data
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Excellent attention to detail

Successful candidates will possess a strong entrepreneurial spirit, are highly self-directed and motivated, and work well under tight deadlines.
