About this role
Function Overview & Position Summary:

The successful candidate will join the Global Enterprise Compliance team, within the Global Compliance function, to lead the ongoing development of the Communications & Digital Reporting ("C&DR") team. C&DR is comprised of 4 full-time employees located in London, Budapest and Gurgaon. The aim of the team is to bring the key elements of the global Compliance communication strategy together within a single team, to enhance and scale the way in which the Compliance function engages with its stakeholders, senior management, boards and committees. This team is vital to the ongoing evolution and stature of the Compliance function globally.
The C&DR team is organized into 5 pillars and the successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing strategy across those pillars to enhance the existing framework, leading team in delivery of those strategic objectives and oversee effective and efficient day-to-day operations. Delivery of the team's objectives will require cross-functional partnership within the Legal & Compliance function and more broadly across the firm.

The 5 pillars of C&DR are:
  • Global Compliance Communications - A vital function of the C&DR team, this pillar centers around developing and redesigning internal communications to ensure that the Compliance message is clear and engaging for all BlackRock employees.
  • Global Compliance Training -The C&DR team is responsible for overseeing and advising on the Compliance training programs at BlackRock. Partnering with HR and other training partners is critical to the ongoing successful delivery of the training program.
  • Global Legal & Compliance Policies - Maintaining and overseeing the Legal & Compliance policy framework to ensure we continue to meet regulatory and client expectations. The C&DR team is responsible for overseeing all the Legal & Compliance policies within BlackRock.
  • Compliance Reporting - Engaging with relevant governance forums; The C&DR team is responsible for ensuring that appropriate reporting is delivered in a consistent approach within the BlackRock governance arrangements.
  • Compliance Scorecard - The recently designed and launched Compliance Scorecard will be overseen and delivered by the C&DR team. The team will be a key part not only in the ongoing delivery of the Scorecard to the business but in supporting the future evolution of the tool.
Specific Responsibilities:
  • Working with the Global Head of Enterprise Compliance and with the Global CCO to ensure continued enhancement of the Compliance communications and engagements with senior management
  • Designing and implementing strategy to enhance existing frameworks
  • Providing advice and guidance to Compliance teams and business partners on appropriate communications and training methodologies
  • Supporting Compliance partners in executing on successful global communication strategies
  • Handling regulatory matters as they arise
  • Leading the ongoing development of the global team
  • Designing, preparing and updating relevant policies, reports, procedure documents, communications and presentations
  • Liaising with business partners to deliver the various projects that are ongoing within the team
  • Leading the team in continuing to develop technology solutions to enhance efficiency and scalability
Skills / Experience:
  • 10+ years' experience (desired but not required) working within financial services. Specific experience within the above pillars preferred however not mandatory.
  • Track record of leading and motivating teams to innovate and deliver.
  • Ability to work within a complex global environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to focus, excellent follow-through, and flexibility.
  • Self-motivated, dedicated, able to change directions quickly, and capable of working well with strong personalities.
  • Strong background in PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Capacity to multi-task, balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic and changing environment.
  • Consistently displays the ability to drive issues to conclusion through the provision of thought leadership, advice and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Ability to support cross-functional projects and teams.
  • Ability to challenge, identify and highlight issues.
  • Interest and willingness to engage in and assist on, matters that do not directly impact coverage area.
  • Facility to grasp complex concepts and details quickly.
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team, involving others in decision-making where appropriate and sharing timely information.
  • Analytical problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects and resolve issues independently without extensive supervision or consultation with others.
