Equities Business Development and Relationship Manager
Independentlymanages a portfolio of existing clients or prospects, focusing on clientsatisfaction, relationship building and responsible business growth that iscompliant, of acceptable risk and profitability. Serves in a consultative roleto clients and prospects, advising top leadership on the best way to achievetheir short- and long- term strategic objectives through the firm's solutions.Assists small to moderate emerging institutional prospects or clients withhigh-growth potential, increased complexity of strategic needs and a longerpursuit process. May also pursue advantageous strategic partnerships with thirdparties in order to better respond to client/prospects needs. May beresponsible for executing trades in certain businesses. Performs in-depthindustry research and maintains an understanding of the market environment,including short- and long-term trends, competitor offerings, regulatorydevelopments etc. in order to achieve account growth or new accounts. Generatesleads from within existing client accounts or as a results of industryresearch, prospecting. Incumbents are highly experienced in independentlydeveloping leads and initiating contact with prospects. Client/prospectcontacts are usually institutional leadership. Assists lower level peers withcomplex analyses when needed. Consults with clients/prospects on theirstrategic vision and uses an in-depth understanding of the firm's solutions andvalue proposition to help achieve that vision. May offer customized productofferings. Develops a negotiation strategy and position to alignclient/prospect needs to firm offerings. Closes new prospects or new clientarrangements by structuring deals (pricing, contract terms, etc.) that achieveoptimal terms for both the client and the firm. Ensures deals are compliantwith all regulations. Marshals firm-wide resources (marketing, legal,compliance, etc.) to ensure the most appropriate response to prospect proposalsand deal structure. Work closely with related teams (RMs, AMs, CSD) and otherfirm-wide resources (marketing, legal, compliance, etc.) to ensure all riskmanagement/compliance activities relevant to business development, relationshipmanagement, and/or account management activities are conducted and captured.Tracks and reports on business development, relationship management, and/oraccount management results for assigned area (geographic, business/industrycategory, product category, etc.) Builds reports for use by senior leaders thatidentifies trends, opportunities, potential areas of concern, etc. No directreports. Provides guidance to less experienced business development,relationship management, and/or account management roles as needed. Responsiblefor business development, relationship management, and/or account managementwithin assigned area (geographic territory, product category, business/industrycategory/segment, etc.). Typically pursues emerging, moderately-sized prospectswith increasingly complex needs. Attendindustry conferences and event to garner information and prospect for newclients. Keen understanding of Equities,ETFs and Options market structure. Teamplayer with a strong work ethic and entrepreneurial attitude.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of educationand experience is required. Advanced/graduate degree preferred.
  • 7-10 years of total work experience preferred.
  • Financial Services experience with a particular client typeor product (Hedge, Pension, etc.) preferred as is prior experience in a relatedcustomer-facing role, Sales Support, Global Capital Markets or ProductManagement.
  • Applicable local/regional licenses or certifications asrequired by the business.
  • A good understanding of the relevant marketplace, competitivelandscape and industry drivers in the relevant region is preferred.
  • As global firm, bi-lingual capabilities are helpful as is anunderstanding of local/cultural nuances important for client trust.
