Budget Reporting is a group within Financial Reporting responsible for preparing the firm's budgets and reforecasts, tracking of the firm's announced growth initiatives, reviewing external and internal senior executive presentations and other ad hoc projects, as necessary. The team interfaces with the Chief Administrative Officer's team (CAO team), divisional CFO teams, Investor Relations, Firmwide Strategy and various other Finance groups.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS The individual will assist in the preparation of the firm's budget and reforecasts. The individual will be responsible for certain areas and processes in the budget/reforecast cycle. This includes significant interaction with divisional CFO teams, the CAO team and Management Reporting team.

In relation to the budget and reforecasts, this individual will also assist in the tracking and reporting of the firm's announced growth initiatives.

This individual will also work with Investor Relations, Firmwide Strategy and other divisional groups on the preparation/review of various internal and external financial presentations to be given by senior executives. Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, organization skills, and interpersonal skills are critical. The applicant should also have excellent writing skills, possess the ability and confidence to work well with a broad range of groups across the firm, consistently deliver and meet tight reporting deadlines, have a very strong team focus and be able to multi-task. Experience in financial services industry and in financial reporting is preferred.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Preparation of certain areas of the firm's budget and reforecasts
  • Coordination and heavy interaction with the CAO and CFO teams from every division and region, as well as with other groups in Controllers.
  • Assist in the coordination with Investor Relations, Firmwide Strategy, the CAO office and other groups within Finance on the review of presentations to be given by senior management both internally (e.g., to the Board of Directors) and externally (e.g., other financial institution conferences)
  • Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 3-4 years. Financial Reporting and/or Planning & Analysis experience a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and multi-tasking skills
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Self-starter with ability to work in a fast-paced environment under challenging deadlines
  • Strong Excel skills. Word, Powerpoint, and Hyperion Essbase skills are a plus
