Front Office Java Developer

We’re looking for a Quant Java Developer with Murex, PEGA, and Order Management. The successful candidate join the Talan team working at our client site and work in a global team delivering production ready features and enhancements. This role will involve working directly with the trading desk and the ideal candidate must be comfortable working in a fast paced front office environment. Our clients are large global investment banks and hedge funds, providing an excellent opportunity in a fast paced financial environment.

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.  

  • Develop pricing and electronic markets applications
  • Work with traders, developers, business analysts, and development managers
  • Provide tier-3 support of applications for front-office users
  • Participate as part of a global development team
  • Work alongside production support teams to roll out changes/new functionality

Required Qualifications

Technical Skill Set:

  • Proficient Java Development Skills, as well as Python and Scala
  • Quant Skills
  • XML/Workflow integration
  • PEGA
  • Experience with .Net frameworks
  • Order Management / Routing
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience working with SQL Server and/or Oracle
  • Knowledge of SDLC and prior experience working on large software development projects

Business and Soft Skills Required:

  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Experience working in a Fixed Income Front Office Environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well with people in different teams
  • Ability to work as part of a global team
  • Prior experience working at a Large Global Investment Bank

Other Skills Desired:

  • Knowledge of FIX Protocol
  • Knowledge of Batch Processing
  • Technical Analysis / Writing
  • Previous exposure to low latency programming and multi-threaded environments

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor or Master degree in an applicable subject matter (Engineering, Computer Science, Math, etc.)
