We serve institutional and retail clients in more than 60 countries, including pension funds, foundations, endowments, official institutions, insurance companies, sub-advisory relationships, high net worth individuals, family offices and private banks. Further, we work to cultivate relationships with key distributors of our investment products, such as broker-dealers, banks, registered investment advisers, financial planners, insurance companies and building societies.


The Global Consultant Relations (GCR) team is part of the Institutional Client Business. GCR is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with global, regional and local consultants across all asset classes; overseeing institutional new business proposals; and data management with the goal of promoting BlackRock products through industry and consultant databases; and business management. Primarily based in the US & Canada and UK, the group is also represented in Hong Kong, Japan and Australia.

 

 

Role Description and responsibilities:

GCR’s Business Management function is seeking a motivated Analyst/Associate to join the team in New York. The candidate’s primary areas of responsibility would be to drive business reporting, data analysis and projects related to consultant-intermediated business, and support on strategic reporting and presentations.  Responsibilities will cover both a global and regional perspective. The position will report to GCR’s global Business Strategy lead and will work directly with two team members in London.  Specific responsibilities include:

 

  • Produce and analyze data monthly to identify trends and key drivers in consultant-intermediated business (AUM, flows, revenues, meeting activity, client wins / losses, market intel); produce detailed reports for senior management highlighting key changes, takeaways, and insights

  • Produce detailed management information to enable GCR’s global, EMEA, US & Canada and APAC senior leaders to execute on, and track progress against, the team’s objectives

  • Support senior leaders by drafting reporting/presentations, as well as tactical and strategic projects

  • Present and communicate data in a clear and concise manner; not only to senior leaders, but to the broader GCR team and partner teams as needed

  • Work with broader GCR, ICB COO, Financial Planning & Analysis and partner teams in Tech & Ops to identify efficiencies, streamline production and accuracy of financial data

  • Enhance existing reporting processes with a focus on simplification, automation, visualization and improved communication

  • Develop a deep knowledge of aCRM to provide support to consultant coverage teams

 

 

Experience and Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of relevant experience, preferably in the financial services sector; working knowledge of the asset management and/or financial services industry preferred but not required; cross-functional experience in finance and/or technology a plus

  • Understanding of institutional investment marketplace and interest in financial markets

  • Track record of strong performance; history of effective multi-tasking, priority and expectation setting,  and issue management

  • Experience managing data processes

  • Able to analyse and extract valuable insights for management

  • BA/BS degree in related field

  • Develop a deep understanding of the business and its key drivers

  • Deliver in fast paced environment with tight deadlines, multiple demands and prioritise effectively

  • Work effectively at all levels of an organization and build strong relationships with team members, managers, and senior leaders in multiple locations
