IT Manager - Wealth Management Technology

Seeking a Senior IT leader who will be responsible for all Application Delivery and Management across FTI's Private Wealth Management group. This role provides a great opportunity to be a strategic partner to Fiduciary Trust's executives to drive its future business & technology vision: growth in next-generation clients; digitizing all of its financial offerings; expanding its breadth of product & services. The role will be responsible for modernizing the current technology stack along with working with number of FinTech & emerging technology startups to further enhance our investment professionals and client experiences.

The IT Manager - Wealth Management Technology is responsible for all application delivery supporting for Franklin Templeton's Private Wealth Management group including existing application support, enhancements/customizations, new development, and integrations.

Responsibilities include:

  • Work with Technical and Business Stakeholders to refresh and establish strategic vision for technology aligned to investment business strategy.
  • Partner with Middle Office and Operations teams to deliver long-term operational planning and performance enhancements.
  • Delivery of projects necessary to achieve the aforementioned strategy (includes design, development, implementation and maintenance of in-house developed solutions as well as implementation and management of vendor products and services).
  • Develops departmental plans, including business, financial, production and/or organizational priorities based on IT and broader business objectives and priorities.
  • Ability to manage multiple vendors.
  • Identifies and resolves complex technical, operational, and organizational problems. Impacts results by supporting the funding of projects, products, services, and/or technologies.
  • Provide leadership and management for a team of software development managers, developers, architects, analysts, and additional technology professionals and consultants.
  • Recruit and manage a highly qualified and motivated staff aligned to the needs of the business. Responsible for mentoring, training and development as well as periodic and annual reviews.


Qualifications
Ideal candidates will have:
  • Demonstrated expertise in the Wealth Advisory technology space within a retail brokerage firm or buy-side company -- Must be intimately familiar with core investment processes across multiple asset classes including the industry/vendor landscape.
  • Able to Deliver - Must be able to lead delivery in a practical, involved and commercial manner. Familiarity with Project and Program management best practices (including Agile) and experience applying them in an appropriate manner. Demonstrated ability to identify and manage risk related to project delivery and financials.
  • Versatile and Effective Communicator - Must be able to interact with diverse group of individuals with very different styles and back grounds.
  • Architectural Awareness - Must be familiar with, and have an affinity for good architectural practices. Must be able to engage and contribute on topics of Solution Architecture and Technical Architecture.
  • Ability to work across organizational boundaries; astute in working with various groups in a large global enterprise.
  • Proven record of establishing technology strategy within a growing and rapidly evolving business including evidence of:
    • Ability to engage with a variety of stakeholder to determine needs, understand different perspectives and establish technology strategy.
    • Ability to communicate technology concepts to non-technical audiences in a clear, concise and thoughtful way.
    • Ability to visualize and influence business's thinking.
    • Ability to balance global, regional and line of business perspective with those of the firm, clients and shareholders.
  • Experience partnering with Front Office users to conceive and deliver high value, high profile solutions involving multiple stakeholders and requiring coordination across multiple delivery functions.
  • Track record of delivering aggressive and complex agendas in a variety of cultures and business environments. Evidence of direct and varied involvement across solution selection, analysis and design, development and project management.
