Latin America FICC Business Finance & Control

Job Description:

Utilizes thorough knowledge and understanding of product, process and inherent risk. Responsible for preparing analysis and performing critical testing and calculations in support of Sub-LOB. Produces financial reporting and disclosures, assists in production of regulatory matters analysis including CCAR and RRP. Analyzes & substantiates P&L attributes and balance sheets, establishes infrastructure for new products, performs month end close and periodic analysis, and validates postings and balances. Interacts with Front Office and support groups.

  • Detailed understanding of the product flows, trade bookings and accounting treatments for FICC Emerging Markets with focus in LatAm
  • Provide support in detailed investigations on Front Office versus Back Office reconciliation activities performed by the Production team
  • Daily interaction with Front Office in agreeing that reported P&L and decomposition is in line with expectations, reviewing estimate to actual analysis performed by the Production team
  • Ensure that the P&L decomposition attribution is understood and that it makes sense.
  • Ad-hoc analysis required by Front Office and senior management including deep dive on P&L balance sheet analysis, and other financial analysis.
  • Provide daily and periodic risk based P&L commentary
  • Engagement in the process to ensure appropriate oversight and review is taking place in Product Control
  • Review and sign off monthly account attestation process, including preparation of Regional Attestation Committee results
  • Agree all Prelim to Final P&L adjustments with Front Office
  • Provision of Balance Sheet commentary including trend analysis and intergroup break resolution
  • Performance of other higher level month end reporting tasks; including review of adjustments and ledger reconciliations, FAS disclosures
  • Accountability for compliance with the main Finance Standing Order, including Large Day 1 P&L escalation, decomposition unexplained breach reporting
  • Responsible/accountable for book static data and market data issues, New Business engagement, and other Control Framework issues, including periodic audit reviews, Operational Risk engagement, Volcker reporting, Finance Function reporting
  • Ensure adequate documentation exists to support existing processes, enabling effective cross training and cover

Required Skills
  • Management Experience
  • Bachelors Degree
  • Strong understanding of Finance (P&L production, product knowledge, balance sheet expertise)
  • Financial Services Experience
