Manager, CRE Portfolio Management

SUMMARY: This position oversees the activities of a team of Commercial Real Estate Portfolio Managers and Portfolio Analysts, working with them to provide a wide range of credit- related support functions relative to the ongoing management of the commercial business unit's credit risk management process. These functions include building and driving a Portfolio Management team responsible for the monitoring and the ongoing maintenance of a portfolio of commercial real estate loans, and ensuring compliance with BankUnited and regulatory standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties and special projects may
be assigned.

* Manages a team of Commercial Real Estate Portfolio Managers and Portfolio Analysts. Ensures that their work meets BankUnited and regulatory standards.
* Reviews annual reviews, periodic analyses and other credit analysis packages prepared by direct reports. Ensures proper methodology for determination of accurate risk ratings.
* Prepares credit analysis packages, as needed.
* Coordinates activities of the team to ensure comprehensive and timely reviews and analyses.
* Mentors and elevates the skillsets of members of the Portfolio Management team.
* Identifies and rectifies policy exceptions.
* Recommends appropriate credit structure and terms & conditions for the renewal of credit opportunities.
* Learns, understands and administers Credit Policy and Procedures.
* Identifies and elevates policy exceptions.
* Works with Lending Officers, Underwriters, Credit Officers and appropriate business partners to ensure on-going communication relative to borrowing relationships and loan facilities.
* Coordinates the review of loan documentation at facility inception.
* Through ongoing portfolio management, seeks out early warning signs of deteriorating credit trends.
* Create projections and reports for senior management.
* Reviews covenant compliance and borrowing base worksheets from commercial clients.
* Researches industries and industry trends.
* Participates in client and prospective client credit related calls.
* Participates in team sales and administrative meetings.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervises the activities of one or more associates, as applicable. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and termination decisions, training associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience plus at least seven years' experience in commercial lending support or servicing is required. Formal credit training and some supervisory experience required.
