The Morgan Stanley Experienced Professionals Program (MSEPP) is designed to recruit and develop Black professionals with or without a background in Finance. The Equity Research component of MSEPP is actively seeking highly motivated, creative thinkers with strong analytical skills and a passion for the financial markets.
The Equity Research program begins with a five-week training and development curriculum to equip you with the fundamental and professional skills needed to be successful in equity research. The curriculum includes coursework in financial statement analysis, corporate finance and financial modeling, and seminars hosted by more experienced members of the department. You will also participate in training and study sessions to prepare you for the Series 7, 63, 86 and 87 exams and the SIE (Securities Industry Essentials) exam. Along with formal training, you will be assigned a mentor when you arrive at the Firm. Following training, Junior Associates will be placed onto sector teams. What Will You Do?
• Work with a team to analyze a specific industry and the major companies within the industry. Our typical team is composed of a senior analyst and multiple associates covering around 20 stocks.
• Analyze the emerging trends in the industry and companies using public and proprietary data sources.
• Create and update financial models and valuation tools on the companies and industries you follow.
• Help formulate stock views and preferences within the sector and contribute to the communication of those views through written work and client and sales force presentations.
• Build relationships with global colleagues, salespeople, traders, and external investing clients. QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
Professionals who self-identify as Black. Applicants must have graduated from a four-year accredited university and have 1 to 5 years of post-graduate work experience.
Applicants should have strong analytical skills, excellent written and oral communication, and a genuine intellectual curiosity. Experience with Microsoft office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is strongly recommended, and basic programming knowledge (Python, R) is a plus.

The Program will take place in Morgan Stanley's New York Headquarters at 1585 Broadway.

EQUITY RESEARCH DEPARTMENT
The Equity Research department is responsible for researching macroeconomic and microeconomic conditions, along with company fundamentals. It also collects and analyses financial information to make investment recommendations on stocks in specific sectors. Research analysts build financial models to explore alternative scenarios, examine industries and communicate with companies and investors. Equity Research team members discuss their analysis and investment recommendations in research notes.
