Brief Description of the Organization CBNA is the primary legal entity for Citi, providing products and services to consumers, financial institutions and corporate clients around the world.  In the past, Citi has provided most of its internal reporting on a business by business basis.  With the changes in the regulatory environment, strong legal entity reporting and governance has become essential.  This team is responsible for ensuring that CBNA has the appropriate governance and control infrastructure to meet the demand for legal entity planning, execution, information management and the ever-evolving regulatory environment.

The Americas Banking & Custody team is the product management organization within the Citi Private Bank, covering North America and Latin America. The team is responsible for the strategic direction of core products, including Banking, Custody/ Safekeeping Services, Escrow Agent Services, and Cards.  Clients for these services include Ultra High Net Worth Individuals and Families, Family Offices, Law Firms/ Associates/ Partners, Registered Investment Advisors, Hedge Funds and Private Equity firms.

Role & Responsibilities

This position reports into Citi Private Bank's Americas Banking & Custody Product Management Head.  The individual will be responsible for:

  • Managing pricing strategy for North America and Latin America deposits
    • Help set standard pricing and  review current client deposit pricing and opportunities for spread enhancements
    • Stay abreast of the short-term market, deposit trends and proposed transfer pricing changes in order to analyze the resulting financial impact on the business
    • Synthesizing feedback from our Sales Specialists and Bankers in the field and publishing competitive intel on rates internally within the Banking & Custody (B&C) team in order to stay competitive and adjust our pricing strategy as needed

  • Managing exception pricing workflow
    • Engaging with Bankers in order to ensure that all requests for pricing are not only within policy, but are competitive enough for us to win incremental LCR-friendly deposits

  • Supporting Market Strategy, Business Reviews and P&L Forecasting
    • Own deposit optimization initiatives covering different deposit portfolios
    • Analyze client profitability across product portfolios and execute strategy aimed to increase margin
    • Work with Banking Specialists in client discussions to understand client needs and determine opportunities for further client penetration

  • Working with partners in Treasury and B&C Business Development to
    • Be aware of any upcoming changes to Transfer Pricing (TP) policy and assess how these developments may impact our processes
    • Be able to understand the intricacies of deposit transfer pricing and translate these into something we can communicate internally within the B&C team
    • in order to ensure that the assumptions we use for pricing are accurate;

  • Pricing Product Development
    • Provide leadership in the design, development, pilot, and launch of end-to-end solutions to meet client needs
    • Introduction of new CD tenors, indexed based pricing and relationship pricing capabilities
    • Ownership of product build, from building appropriate business case to secure funding, writing BRDs, and work with Tech partners to oversee development and support testing; work with Sales to successfully market and launch
    • Partner with product partners in CPB, CCB, Consumer Bank and TTS in order to ensure alignment of development roadmap

  • Risk & Compliance
    • Ownership of  Pricing policies and procedures from draft to execution
    • Chairing CBP Pricing Committee

  • Communication
    • Ensuring that pricing and disclosures to Bankers via the B&C Intranet are up to date and accurately reflect the product offering and pricing


Qualifications

Experience
  • 3 to 5 years of Deposit Pricing, or Balance Sheet, or Product Development experience
  • Demonstrated track record of working with multi-functional partners as well as influencing within a matrix organization
  • Project management experience with demonstrated ability to synthesize information, prioritize business goals and drive results with a high sense of urgency
Skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication + interpersonal skills with the ability to present internally and externally with partners, senior management and clients
  • Comfort with large data sets; strong Excel skills
  • Highly collaborative team player with excellent attention to detail and ability to quickly adapt to changing environment and systems.
