Clearing, Markets & Issuer Services Technology(CMIST)
is responsible for application developmentand support for more than 350 critical business systems including Repo Edge(collateral management), Enterprise Payment Hub (multi-currency payment processing),and Broker Dealer Clearance (securities clearing). Markets & Market Risk Technology (MMRT)
within CMIST provides technology management and application developmentfor Foreign Exchange (FX), Securities Finance, Global Collateral Management,Liquidity Management, and Fixed Income & Equities businesses. This groupalso supports the company's market risk and counterparty credit risk platforms.
BNY Mellon is investing heavily in their eFX (electronicFX) offering with the Markets FX Sales and Trading technology group looking fortalented software engineers to build out its capabilities in NY.
In this role, you will either work individually orcollaborate with a small globally distributed team of highly experienced Javasoftware developers responsible for building a highly-distributed tradingapplication capable of consuming and distributing high volumes of market datawith minimal latency.
As a Principal Developer, you will be expected to workwith internal business groups to provide application software developmentservices or technical support. You will take part in analysis and resolution ofbusiness issues for the various business areas. You will provide comprehensivesenior-level consulting to IT management and senior technical staff within theMarkets technology group and guide the group on the use of emergingtechnologies, and advocate innovative and creative technology solutions.
Principal Developer->> Consults with internal business groups to provide high-level application software development services or technical support. Provides comprehensive senior-level technical consulting to IT management and senior technical staffs. Evaluates compliance with the organization's technology standards. Works with internal business groups on implementation opportunities, challenges, and requirements of various applications. Analyzes information and provides recommendations to address and resolve business issues for a specific business group. Guides and consults with IT management and technical staffs regarding use of emerging technologies and associated services. Participates in defining corporate implementation and integration strategies of new technologies. Advocates for innovative, creative technology solutions. Contributes to the achievement of area objectives. Qualifications

Bachelor's degree incomputer science engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent workexperience required
10 to 12 years of experiencein software development required
At least 5 years of development experienceusing Core Java - multithreading, concurrency and networking
Familiarity with the concepts of distributedarchitecture
Hands on experience with Messagingtechnologies (any of IBM MQ, Kafka, Solace, ActiveMQ)
Hands on experience of SQL (preferably on MSSQL Server)
Familiarity with the Financial InterchangeExchange (FIX) Protocol
Familiarity with Linux OS (and shellscripting), GIT, Jenkins
Excellent communication skills, passion forsoftware development, and being a team player are a must!
Experience of developingelectronic trading systems for the Securities or Foreign Exchange markets is aplus.
