Real Estate Fund Accounting Trainer/Group Mgr

Fund/Client Real Estate Accounting - Real Estate Fund Accounting Trainer responsible for conducting technical accounting training on behalf of a broad array of assigned clients including analysis of fund structures, joint venture structures, fund accounting closing process, calculating fund performance returns, financial statement and note presentation. The training role will travel as needed to BNYM offices to provide on-site, deskside training as part of the onboarding process of new business. Manages relationships with a broad set of clients and resolves any unique escalated issues related to fund calculations and accounting. Training to teams to ensure that accounting records are maintained in accordance with departmental policies and procedures as well as GAAP/Fair Value or IFRS. Evaluates GAAP and/or IFRS rules to determine impact of new regulations on BNY Mellon fund accounting practices. Develops strategy for follow up post training period and provides guidance to teams on the implementation of new policies to follow regulations. Implements and assists in setting guidelines, policies, and priorities for the drafting of financial reports for a broad set of clients to review fund performance. Assists with communicating complex accounting intricacies to clients.


Bachelor's degree in accounting or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
7-10 years of total work experience and at least 4 years with Big 4 accounting firm experience strongly preferred.
Property and Real Estate fund accounting experience strongly preferred
Travel domestic and international is required.
