BUSINESS OVERVIEW: The Markets Resilience program is comprised of 3 core areas: Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, and Incident and Crisis Management. Business continuity covers our ability to recovery the operational execution activities (people, places, things) in the event of a disruption. Disaster Recovery addresses our ability to failover and recover following a disruption to the technology dependencies we rely on. Incident and Crisis Management supports our ability to respond, react, escalate, and communicate effectively in the event of any type of disruption. This individual will report to the BNYM Markets FX Global COO, and will be responsible for the management, oversight, and delivery of the Markets FX Resilience program across all lines of Markets FX sub-businesses (Trading, Sales, Custody FX etc.). S/he will be responsible for providing direction and oversight of the program ensuring our strategies remain viable. As the Markets FX Resiliency Lead, s/he will act as the proxy for the Global Head of FX and Global FX COO related to all Resiliency specific deliverables and during ICM events. JOB DESCRIPTION: Responsible for the management and oversight of the Markets Resilience Foreign Exchange (FX) Program, including Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, Incident and Crisis Management, Failover and Stay, Business Services Framework, Swap Dealer Resilience, and Governance/Strategy/Metrics. Senior leader and business/resilience subject matter expert who owns and serves as the coordination point for all Markets FX resilience activities Acts as the Markets FX Business Resiliency Lead accountable for owning and managing the execution of ERO resilience objectives across all Markets FX Priority and Critical Business Services (P/CBS). Partners with the Markets Resiliency Lead to ensure PBS and CBSs remain in compliance with enterprise and regulatory requirements. Contributes to the establishment of the overall resiliency strategy for the business. Contributor to the stand alone Swap Dealer Resiliency Program to meet CFTC/NFA regulatory requirements including annual planning and testing requirements. Leads / Contributes to all Incident and Crisis Management events as the Markets FX Incident Coordinator, ensuring business and operations teams have adequate support to mitigate impacts stemming from the disruption. Acts as the decision maker and proxy for senior leadership where appropriate during events. Engages, escalates, and communicates to executive/senior leadership and impacted parties throughout the event. Directs the implementation of governance protocols across the Markets FX Resiliency program, and completes projects to assess, revise and improve recovery plans in the event of regulatory changes/findings, or to address risk/gap remediation. Provides oversight of all Markets FX testing activities and directs professional staff in preparing functions for testing events, including enhancing technology recovery testing (application and service transactional), call tree testing, recovery site and work transfer testing, various tabletops exercises, and Failover and Stay testing and execution. Leads and supports the Markets FX business lines to ensure the business is meeting both client and regulatory requirements related to all program pillars (BCP, DR, ICM, etc). Contributes to the development of the enterprise-wide Resiliency strategy, supporting the migration to a new BCP planning tool and during ICM events. Implements approved protocols for enforcing and monitoring resiliency and ICM preparedness, and assists with the development of training to ensure business roles are aware of their responsibility to maintain a compliant environment and what to do in the event of a technology disruption, operational issue, pandemic, or cyber event, among others. Contributes to efforts to develop a strong business continuity compliance culture and further develop the programs' effectiveness as part of the first line of defense. Manages relationships with client contacts and business continuity vendors to coordinate regional alignment with the organization's Business Continuity & Recovery strategy. Escalates significant resiliency issues to the Markets Business Resiliency Lead as required Partners with Markets Business Resiliency Lead as required when working directly with Legal and Third Party Governance to review client contracts and requests changes as directed to reduce potential business continuity risks inherent to these relationships. Provides feedback at the most critical times. Responsible for the achievement of goals across multiple regions. Ensures teams are equipped to operationalize and attain multi-regional objectives. Assists Markets FX COO to ensure appropriate financial and human resource allocation. Modified based upon local regulations/requirements. PREFERRED QUALIFICATION: Understanding of Global Markets businesses preferred; BCP/DR/ICM experience within a financial services firm required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, organizational skills and analytical/problem-solving skills required. Strong influencing skills, including ability to articulate complex issues and incorporate feedback. Thrives working under pressure and with minimal direction. Strong project management skills, including the ability to work on simultaneous projects across multiple teams with short lead times. Willing to work weekends and off-hours as required to support the program Qualifications Bachelors degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required. 10-12 years of total work experience preferred.
