Senior Business Control Specialist
Title: Senior Business Control Specialist -Technology Issues Management
Location: New York (250 Vesey) or New Jersey (Pennington/Hopewell)

(KU005) Responsible for management of issues and risks within the Global Banking and Markets Technology (GBAM Tech) Division. This will be done by effectively implementing GT&Os governance routines, and requirements, using established tools and documented procedures. Provide analytical support in executing internal control discipline and operational excellence within a LOB/ECF. Gather and organize data in order to monitor and test the effectiveness of key controls and status of mitigation and action plans. Prepare documentation for the tracking, monitoring, and escalation of risk related issues to management. Acts as an ambassador of the risk culture. Incumbents typically have over 5+ years of risk management and/or LOB/ECF experience. May manage staff.

  • Collaborate with the GBAM Tech divisions, Risk Leads and process owners to document, and manage the performance of issues and risks that are essential to managing operational standards and compliance to applicable policies, laws and regulations.
  • Assist business and process owners with remediating the most significant risks including Audit Issues, Self-Identified Audit Issues, Compliance Identified Audit Issues, Regulatory Issues and Priority Initiatives.
  • Provide guidance and coaching to GBAM Tech associates on the execution of the Issues and Risks Policy; the GTO Issues Management playbook; and usage of issues management systems and tools (eIMS, Issue Severity Guidance Grid, etc).
  • Perform QA on the GBAM Tech Issues Management portfolio to identify and address issues out of tolerance, issues at risk, and other indicators.
  • Partner with Corporate Audit team members review issues, action plans, issues at risk and related go to green plans.
  • Manage cross-functional operational risk programs and projects by driving communication and coordination across multiple GBAM Tech divisions to ensure the timely completion of objectives and the seamless execution of plans.
  • Lead and/or coordinate special projects and programs, as requested by GBAM Tech management.
  • Coordinate or collaborate on weekly and monthly meetings, reports and monitoring of various issues and risk management routines.
  • Other, including building a sustainable risk culture and risk management program within GBAM Tech, managing metrics and providing transparency, leading GBAM Tech participation in technology risk activities. Support the Identify, Escalate, Debate risk culture.
  • Excellent communication skills; strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Minimum 3 years technology experience required. Experience in Markets technology or Institutional / Corp Investment technology strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years technology risk and control experience required. Technology Audit experience preferred.
