Corporate and Funding Technology (CFT) is one of the divisions within Technology & Data. We face off to the business and support services to develop and oversee the overall technology strategy and bespoke technology solutions to drive and enable the enterprise. Our clients include Fixed Income, Equities, Commodities, Investment Banking, Research, Global Capital Markets, Operations, Finance, and Legal & Compliance. We are responsible for Pioneer and Application Infrastructure, groups that look to develop foundational strategies, tools and technologies that are leveraged across Tech & Data, as well as standardized data and enterprise-wide services to provide leverage to the Firm's businesses.
Operations and Compliance Technology develops and maintains systems in support of Morgan Stanley's global Operations, legal and compliance business processes, including (but not limited to) Settlements, Confirmations, Regulatory Reporting, Position Keeping, Corporate Actions processing, Tax Processing and other post-trade functions. Operations and Compliance Technology is a global organization that is client-focused and functionally aligned. Our organization is built to support our clients functional, regional and business facing requirements while delivering innovative technology and ensuring plant and processing stability.

Qualifications:

Primary Responsibilities:

Design, implement, and execute appropriate solutions and enhancements to ensure an improvement in system reliability and performance.
Ensure project deadlines are met and are in alignment with the needs of the business unit, and coincide with release management and governance.
Ensure that operational aspects of supported applications are included in architectural standards
Produce service metrics, analyze trends and identify opportunities to improve the level of service and reduce cost as appropriate.
Support implementation activities.
Enable technical knowledge sharing across team
Work with cross geographically located team on designated areas

Skills required (essential):
Strong background with Unix based programming and scripting, primarily Python/Perl with 10+ years of experience:
o Knowledge of database scripting and queries
o well versed in writing Stored Procedures
o worked on file processing shell utilities
o Strong experience in SQL/PL-SQL, DDL, DML statement’s
o Expertise in SQL performance tuning

Strong Data modelling, Database design exposure.
Thorough knowledge of SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle)
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)

Skills desired:

Exposure to programming languages javascript/java
Exposure to Wealth Management functional especially Cost Basis Reporting, Taxation, G&L.
