Wintel Engineer
Position Overview
The Wintel (Servers) Engineer will be based in the New York office and will be responsible for providing support to the Americas region and data centers while also working closely with global colleagues. The ideal candidate should be interested in cloud technologies and have a demonstrated willingness to learn and apply new technology. This role will entail a mixture of day-to-day support activities as well as project work as outlined below.

Responsibilities
Technical Support (80%)
  • Provide expert level support for all technical issues in Active Directory and Microsoft Windows environment supporting over 200 servers and 300+ users in the Americas region.
  • Provide technical guidance and support for patch management, server/data center management, backups, virtualization.
  • Perform Infrastructure configuration management activities and follow change management procedures for implementing any changes to the production environment.
  • Lead initiatives to consolidate, upgrade and implement equipment.

Operational Support (20%)
  • Help create and implement processes and procedures to improve efficiency of IT operations, identify areas for improvement and suggest technical, process and organizational changes.
  • Recommend and implement capacity increases, serve as the technical escalation for results of preventative maintenance routines as well as supervise preventative maintenance.
  • Effectively communicate resolutions to IT staff and users ensuring incidents are resolved and end user communication is complete.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Information technology or equivalent experience.
  • Work with management, team members, and stakeholders to define/document business and technical requirements.
  • Work with our EUC/Application support team(s) to support our clients which includes projects and providing 2nd and/or 3rd level escalation for issues when required.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of recent relevant working experience with Cloud technologies (Azure, Office 365, Citrix)
  • Extensive knowledge of virtual networking
  • Experience deploying and supporting various VDI and Application workloads in an HA environment
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server 2016 and 2019
  • Expertise in Office 365 suite of applications (Exchange Online, Teams, Azure Active Directory)
  • Strong experience with Active Directory, VMware vSphere, and DFS
  • Five (5) + years' experience in IT Operations in an enterprise level environment providing Tier1 & 2 level support.
  • Willingness to be part of on-call rotation.
  • Understanding of Enterprise technology including storage arrays, storage networking, network protocols and general connectivity in multi-platform enterprise environments.
  • Comfortable supporting technology remotely in remote data centers.
  • Knowledge of monitoring tool and platforms.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Developing and customizing PowerShell Scripts for purposes of optimization, automation and reporting.
  • Possess Industry Certifications in Microsoft, VMware.
