Field Surveillance Manager - Private Bank

Morgan Stanley ("MS") is a global financial services firm that conducts its business through three principal business segments-Institutional Securities, Global Wealth Management via Wealth Management (WM), and Asset Management. WM provides comprehensive financial advice and services to its clients including brokerage, investment advisory, financial and wealth planning, credit and lending, deposits and cash management, annuities, insurance, retirement and trust services.

Morgan Stanley Private Bank, National Association ("Bank" or "MSPBNA") provides deposit and lending products and services to serve the needs of Wealth Management clients and seeks a Field Surveillance Manager ("FSM") as part of the Bank's First Line Field Operational Risk organization. The FSM will be primarily responsible for conducting e-communication surveillance of the Bank's employees, creating and maintaining the Field Operational Risk Office's suite of risk oversight monitoring reports and will conduct daily risk oversight activities pertaining to the Bank's lending and deposit products and services. The FSM will report to the Bank's Sales Practice Risk Officer and will be based in the New York Metro Area (Purchase (NY), New York City, New Jersey), Baltimore (MD), South Jordan / Salt Lake City (UT), or Dallas/Coppell (TX).

The Field Surveillance Manager will :

• Conduct daily e-communication surveillance of the Bank's employees; escalating and managing the handling of all potential issues identified
• Create daily, weekly, monthly and ad-hoc reports to ensure compliance with Bank Field Operational Risk Office policies and procedures
• Maintain and enhance the Field Operational Risk Office's data warehouse and end user computing tools to ensure data is properly being reflected in all reports
• Assist the Sales Practice Risk Officer in the identification and management of sales practice issues
• Create, track and monitor risk metrics and escalate to Bank Management where/when appropriate
• Contribute to the preparation of Bank Management presentation materials
• Assist the regional Field Operational Risk Officers in creating field facing risk presentations
• Assist the regional Field Operational Risk Officers with conducting periodic First Line Operational Risk assessments of the Field pertaining to the Bank's products and services
• Provide back up support to the Field Operational Risk Officers where necessary

Experience :

• Bachelor's Degree or higher
• 1-3 years of experience in audit, business management, consulting, legal/compliance, banking and lending product risk advisory or operational risk management
• 1-3 years of experience working for a Bank or Broker/Dealer
• Good understanding of operational risk, securities based lending, residential and commercial mortgages loans and cash management/deposit products and services
