Reports to Head of Argo Pro Programs

Argo Pro has an exciting and challenging opportunity for a Head of Business Development - Argo Pro Programs. This position is located in our Addison, Texas office and will report to the Head of Argo Pro Programs.

The focus of this position is to primarily to grow new program business and secondarily to assist in the management existing programs. The ideal candidate for the Head of Business Development Argo Pro Programs has at least 20 years of industry experience in Professional and Management Liability lines and brings with them established relationships and contacts with reinsurance brokers and reinsurers to solicit and grow new programs business.

Core Responsibilities

Develop new opportunities with reinsurers and reinsurance brokers

Manage or assist in the management of onboarding new programs

Assist in the management of existing programs, as needed

Lead or supplement the performance of bi-annual Underwriting Audits of all Programs

Support development of a data warehouse for program business to ensure profitability

Collaborate with Head of Argo Pro Programs to successfully educate, build and manage internal communication and relationships with Claims, Actuary, Finance, Operations, Digital, to ensure profitable programs

Attend industry conferences and events focused on Argo Pro Programs

Assist in development of annual business plans to include strategies, tactics, and resources to achieve goals

Oversee and provide marketplace and competitor analysis

Create program sales and marketing report function that tracks, measures, and analyzes performance

Ensure all marketing communications are coordinated and consistent with pre-agreed brand positioning and messaging

Actively contribute in professional societies, associations, and activities related to program manager/MGA industry segment

Prepare presentations to explain Argo Pros Programs new program acquisition targets and s strategy internally and externally

Foster strong team environment by maintaining positive working relationships and cultivating rapport between reinsurers, reinsurance brokers, underwriters and carriers.

Act as a role model demonstrating belief in, and commitment to, the aspiration values of Argo Pro.

Education, Qualifications, And Requirements

Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, with minimum 20 years insurance experience in Professional and Management Liability lines, sales, marketing, and program management or production underwriting

Demonstrated track record of accomplishments in broker relationships and program management

Budgeting and resource allocation experience

Broad functional experience in areas of marketing, business and market development, market research and planning, promotions and advertising, and brand positioning and messaging

Strong interpersonal skills, good judgment, and capable of communicating with a diverse range of individuals

Competitive, driven, hard-working, and self-starter

Recognized leader within the industry who provides advice and guidance to others

Demonstrates knowledge of managing programs

High degree of personal ownership and accountability

Independent decision-making skills and strong negotiation abilities

Experience in delivering cogent presentations to internal and external audiences

Ability to travel extensively

Proficient in the use of computer programs, including Word, Excel, Access, CRM, and Outlook.
