Job Description:

The Benefits Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the employee leaves and wellness plan, including customer support for our employees regarding all benefits. The role also includes working with vendors, our benefits broker and others to deliver benefits services to Dimensional employees. This position reports to the Benefits Manager.


Responsibilities:

  • Manage the LOA and FMLA absence management programs, and well as ADA cases. Provide solutions to difficult situations and consult with Benefit Manager, Legal, HR Business Partners, and Employee Relations. Work directly with Managers and employees as necessary. Work closely with leave and FMLA carrier to ensure employees claims are complete.
  • Manage employee wellness program, including vendor updates, employee communication, oversight of fitness program, onsite wellness promotional clinics, and engagement with regional wellness committees.
  • Day-to-day contact for employee benefit, leave, and wellness inquiries.
  • Provide updates to external providers such as benefits broker, insurance carriers, other vendors.
  • Assist in annual benefit open enrollment activities including employee benefit communications, benefit audits, implementation and distribution of Total Rewards Guides, benefit reporting and disclosures.
  • Analyze absence trends and provides recommendations for more effective case management. Initiate enhanced analytics and early identification of issues and create enhanced communication programs.
  • Work with Benefits Manager and Workday team in implementing system updates to streamline benefit updates, eligibility feeds, and employee enrollment processes.
  • Reconcile current benefits invoices to ensure accurate employee enrollment and changes are reflected.
  • Ensure legal compliance requirements are effectively documented and controlled.
  • Other HR operational duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 5 years of relevant benefits experience at progressively responsible levels
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • General knowledge of federal and state laws relating to benefit plans including PPACA, ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, and ADA compliance.
  • Must have excellent decision making and problem solving capabilities, and demonstrated ability to manage through systems and drive innovation.
  • Ability to manage/prioritize multiple projects from conception to completion, working in a fast-paced environment. Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multi-task, and work under shifting deadlines.
  • Familiarity with a Benefits administration tool (Workday preferred) or some other widely used solution.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Superior customer service and interpersonal skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to details.
  • Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality.

Position can be based out of either our Austin, TX location or Charlotte, NC
