About the Role:
Currently, the Banking Supervision Consumer Affairs department is looking for a versatile Assistant Examiner (Consumer) to be located in Dallas, TX. Under direct oversight, the Assistant Examiner, Consumer Affairs (CA) will support the Consumer Complaints Program for the Consumer Complaint Unit of the Banking Supervision Department. This is accomplished by assigning and investigating complaints according to System and Department policies. You will also maintain the complaint database and provide metrics information to Department management. You may also serve in a participant role or assist other participants on System and District projects and workgroups that support the departments functions. You will report to the Director of Examinations responsible for consumer complaints. You will work with CA team members in Dallas, Houston and San Antonio. All members collaborate to ensure supervisory events are conducted in an organized manner and accurately present current assessments of risk exposure and the quality of risk management practices for the CA portfolio.

You Will:

  • Communicate with depository institutions regarding complaints
  • Communicate with staff from the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System concerning complaints and represent the Reserve Bank on the Systems Complaint Community of Practice group
  • Analyze complaints and convey the results to the complainant
  • Contribute to the analysis of complex complaints, such as those related to fair lending and unfair or deceptive acts or practices
  • Develop workpapers to document your analysis and support your conclusions
  • Maintain the complaint database to adequately document the current status of any complaint
  • Develop, and provide to management and staff, Metric information on the complaint function
  • Monitor for changes to complaint procedures
  • Complete the Examiner Commissioning Program for Non-Commissioned examiners

You Have:

  • Bachelor's degree is required. A major in business, economics, finance, accounting, or a related field is preferred
  • Minimum four (4) or more years of direct or comparable banking, financial industry, or banking supervision experience is preferred
  • An active commission from a federal or state banking regulatory agency is preferred
  • Intermediate writing skills, including the ability to write clearly, correctly, and concisely with minimal errors
  • Equivalent education and/or experience may be substituted for any of the above requirements
