We are looking for an experienced Controller to lead the financial operations of our healthcare organization. This role will guide core accounting activities, deliver accurate reporting, and help leadership make informed financial decisions. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, healthcare industry insight, and the ability to strengthen processes, controls, and team performance.
Responsibilities:
• Direct day-to-day accounting activities across the general ledger, payables, receivables, payroll, and period-end close to ensure timely and accurate financial results.
• Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports that support internal decision-making and organizational planning.
• Uphold compliance with applicable healthcare financial requirements, organizational standards, and internal control expectations.
• Lead the annual budget cycle, ongoing forecasting efforts, and cash management planning to support financial stability.
• Administer and improve financial platforms, including Sage Intacct, to promote efficient and reliable accounting operations.
• Partner with external auditors during annual audit activities and manage the preparation of required schedules, documentation, and responses.
• Establish, refine, and maintain accounting policies and procedures that support consistency, accuracy, and regulatory alignment.
• Evaluate financial performance, identify trends, and present actionable recommendations to executive leadership.
• Provide guidance, oversight, and skill development to accounting team members while fostering accountability and collaboration.
• Track reimbursement patterns, revenue cycle results, and payer mix shifts to help inform strategic and operational priorities.
Requirements
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and core accounting principles within a healthcare environment.
• Demonstrated experience leading month-end close activities, including journal entry review and financial statement oversight.
• Proficiency with Sage Intacct and advanced Microsoft Excel skills for analysis, reporting, and reconciliation.
• Background in managing budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, and financial performance review.
• Experience supporting external audits and maintaining effective internal controls and accounting procedures.
• Ability to interpret healthcare reimbursement trends, revenue cycle performance, and payer mix data.
• Proven leadership experience supervising and mentoring accounting staff.
• Excellent communication and business partnering skills with the ability to advise executive leadership.
