Duties and responsibilities, as they align to Ryans Key Results

People:

  • Leads and develops a team of 2-4 people, including providing day-to-day support as needed in addition to long-term development and mentorship. Manage performance and set expectations clearly with each team member.
  • Administers various employee benefits programs on a global basis, including medical, dental, life, disability, vision, retirement plans, flexible spending accounts, employee assistance programs, health club subsidies, adoption assistance, international pension schemes and COBRA.

Client:

  • Works with employees, vendors, and brokers to handle benefit inquiries, complaints, and issues to ensure quick, equitable, and courteous resolution. Manages escalated issues.

Value:

  • Evaluates and compares existing Firm benefits with competitors and best practices by analyzing other plans, surveys, and other sources of information. Analyzes results of surveys and develops specific recommendations for review by management.
  • Develops and publishes ongoing employee communication, and prepares and hosts regular employee education sessions. Ensures that the benefit materials are current and up-to-date for all locations. Reviews plan documents and materials to ensure appropriate provisions and coverage.
  • Supports the coordination and execution of annual plan renewals and enrollments, including the evaluation of proposals, the modification of benefit materials, the coordination of enrollment meetings, and the transmission of enrollment data to vendors.
  • Oversees the administration of all leaves of absences and associated short- and long-term disability claims.
  • Supports the Firms 401(k) plan administration, including coordination of the plans annual valuation and audit.
  • Manages the Firms workers compensation program, including the coordination of multiple state requirements, injury, treatment and reporting coordination, and the annual workers compensation audit.
  • Supports benefit plan strategy, coordination, implementation, and ongoing administration for international employees.
  • Administers the benefits and absence management module in the HRIS system.
  • Keeps apprised of international, federal, state, and local benefit laws and regulations in order to ensure Company compliance.
  • Exemplifies customer service orientation and effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Participates on committees, special projects, and seeks additional responsibilities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

Bachelors degree in Human Resources or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience required with at least five to seven years of progressively responsible experience in benefits administration in a global environment. At least two to three years managing a benefits team.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have advanced knowledge of Microsoft® Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet navigation and research. Workday experience preferred.


Certificates and Licenses:

Valid drivers license required. Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) certification a plus.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Requires supervisory responsibilities, including managing projects, training employees, assigning work, and making sound business decisions while representing the Firm.
