Senior Financial Accountant

Position Summary
The Senior Accountant performs various duties to support the accounting goals of timeliness and accuracy including review of journal entries, and monthly financial/external reporting. The Senior Accountant is responsible for ensuring proper accounting in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and reviewing financial reporting packages to meet internal and external requirements as applicable. As the Senior Accountant, you are a member of the accounting team, and you are accountable for meeting the deadlines set by your manager, in-order for your team to meet internal and external reporting commitments to owners, partners, and lenders.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, some or all of the following:
General Ledger Administration

  • Administer the Company's metadata policy
    • Set up new accounts, companies, and business units
    • Perform system integrity checks and maintain rules as set forth in the policy
    • Design new integrity checks
  • Write and update administrator procedures
  • Provide end-user training of JD Edwards EnterpriseOne accounting software to accounting personnel
  • Perform other duties and special projects with minimal supervision as assigned
Financial Consolidations
  • Roll net income to retained earnings, allocate retained earnings to partners, and reconcile the retained earnings to prior year equity income
  • Post monthly corporate eliminations and corporate adjustments
  • Prepare quarterly tax reporting packages
Financial Reporting
  • Design innovative financial reports to solve complex accounting and reporting problems
  • Provide end-user training of ReportsNow DAS7 reporting software to accounting personnel
Education and experience requirements:
  • Four-year degree from an accredited university in Accounting, Finance, or Computer Information Systems
  • Four or more years of accounting experience or IT experience supporting an accounting ERP
  • Intermediate knowledge of chart of accounts, general ledger, trial balance preparation, the general ledger period close cycle
  • Intermediate experience in Excel and business software tools; JD Edwards, Hyperion Financial Management, and ReportsNow a plus
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to multitask and work as part of a team to meet team goals in addition to individual responsibilities
  • Experience working in a dynamic environment with a commitment to meeting deadlines
