Position Profile

Weaver’s internal Finance team is looking for an Accounting Manager II, who will be based in our Fort Worth office.  The Accounting Manager II will apply principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports utilizing appropriate internal control procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Perform month-end and year-end closing procedures timely
  • Record general ledger transactions and journal entries
  • Reconcile bank accounts and general ledger accounts
  • Monitor, review, and prepare a variety of financial statements and analysis reports
  • Develop and document GL policies and procedures
  • Monitor internal controls
  • Actively participate in system design and implementation
  • Interact with upper management and operations while providing support on accounting  related issues
  • Reconcile capital and partner draw accounts and process partner payments
  • Perform backup duties for Finance Department positions
  • Assist in special projects
  • Supervise Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable:
    • Develop and document Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable policies and procedures
    • Supervise and evaluate Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable staff
    • Assign and monitor segregation of duties and other internal controls
    • Ensure that functions have adequately trained backups when absences occur
    • Promote and monitor education and training for staff
    • Present proposed annual compensation budget for Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable staff

Education and Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or related field
  • CPA Certification required
  • 5 – 7 years experienced preferred
  • Knowledge of corporate and departmental accounting practices, procedures and principles
  • Understanding of GAAP and/or statutory accounting principles
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively interact with staff at all levels
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and complete projects effectively
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with experience in accounting systems, applications and other business-related software systems
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative, set priorities and see projects through to completion
