Safety Community Examiner, Finance And Insurance Industry
Safety and Soundness Community Bank Examiner

About the Role:
We are looking for a versatile Safety and Soundness Community and Foreign Bank Examiner to lead and participate in examinations as part of the supervision process for banks and bank holding companies in our Community Banking Organization (CBO) and Foreign Banking Organization (FBO) portfolios. You will accomplish this by participating in supervisory activities including financial and risk management analysis, and verifying adherence to laws, regulations, regulatory guidance, and commitments. In addition, you will confer with bank personnel to gather information and communicate any issues that arise during supervisory activities, as well as present conclusions and regulatory ratings for specific factors, to examination leadership and bank and Reserve Bank management.

You will work with CBO team members in Dallas and FBO team members in Houston.  All members collaborate to ensure supervisory events are conducted in an organized manner and accurately present current assessments of risk exposure and the quality of risk management practices for the CBO and FBO portfolios.

You Will:

  • Partner with other safety and soundness examiners in a team environment to effectively execute supervisory plans for Community Banking Organizations and Foreign Banking Organizations in the Eleventh Federal Reserve District
  • Analyze bank policies, procedures and controls related to safety and soundness examinations and inspections
  • Collaborate with examiners, risk specialists, representatives from Texas Department of Banking and analysts from the Board of Governors to recommend a variety of regulatory assessments
  • Develop work papers to document your analysis and support your conclusions
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with examination team members and business lines
  • Complete the Examiner Commissioning Program for Non-Commissioned examiners 

You Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, or related field of study required
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in credit, banking, audit, or bank regulatory experience preferred
  • If applicable, an active commission from a federal or state banking regulatory agency preferred
  • Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Equivalent education and/or experience may be substituted for any of the above requirement
