RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS Duties: Associate with Goldman Sachs Services LLC in Salt Lake City, UT. Associate within the Security Platform Engineering team, responsible for strategic engagement with application development teams to provide timely end-to-end delivery of appropriate platform solutions that provide access to servers. Design and develop mid-to-large scale mission-critical software systems (~1M LoC, 99.999% uptime, 2K+ clients, 10+ components) to streamline and automate existing tasks, improve productivity and enhance focus on strategic platforms. Engage in requirements analysis, project planning, solution design and development, unit and functional testing, deployment, application support, production issues resolution, and implementation of fixes. Partner with engineering teams to understand technology offerings and how they can be applied to solve business problems, such as providing a platform for production host access that captures user activity and provides workflow for requesting, reviewing and approving access. Interface with application and development community to analyze and resolve escalations. Provide technical guidance on established infrastructure best practices to IT community and business. Manage multiple projects and exercise independent judgment to prioritize development tasks.

Job Requirements: Master's or Bachelor's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related degree. Three (3) years of experience with a Master's degree or five (5) years of experience with a Bachelor's degree in the job offered or a related application development role. Prior experience must include three (3) years of experience with a Master's degree or five (5) years of experience with a Bachelor's degree with: All stages (inception, analysis, design, implementation, runtime, and maintenance) of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) on distributed systems; Production software development in a security-focused environment with enterprise programming languages including at least one of the following: C++, Java, or C#; Designing and developing applications using enterprise application development frameworks like J2EE or similar; SQL on a transactional RDBMS (e.g. DB2, Sybase, Oracle, or similar) including database design and performance optimization (e.g., analyzing indexes and primary and foreign key relationships); Software development on Linux; Managing performance, availability and scale for mid-to-large sized systems (e.g.,~1M LoC, 99.999% uptime, 2K+ clients, 10+ components); N-tiered systems and asynchronous frameworks; Working with technology and business users to elicit and understand requirements, as well as delivering written/verbal explanations to end users that detail how technology solutions apply to requirements; and Managing multiple projects. Prior experience must also include three (3) years of experience with: Unix-based and Windows operating systems; Scripting languages such as Perl, Python, Bash, Powershell or similar; Designing and developing Graphical User Interfaces(GUI) using web technologies such as HTML, JavaScript, CSS or similar; ORM Persistence tools like Hibernate or similar; Implementation of SOAP and REST services and clients; Existing identity and authentication systems and protocols such as Kerberos or ssh, or other role-based access control systems or information technology controls; and Working within a geographically distributed development team, including experience working both independently and in concert with other developers, as well as experience communicating status (both verbally and within writing) across the team.
