RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS Duties: Vice President with Goldman Sachs Services LLC in Salt Lake City, UT. As a Vice President on the Enterprise Technology Operations (ETO) AppBank team, responsible for providing operational and production support to the Firm's Prime Services applications. Monitor mission critical batch processes that carry monetary and reputational impact to the Firm. Work actively with team members to analyze, debug and resolve application issues. Identify root cause for defects by analyzing and debugging the application logs, and working with engineering team to fix the issues. Manage incidents and effectively communicate with users, application owners and senior stakeholders. Improve application stability and performance by observing patterns, recurring failures and/or issues, and advising application owners on permanent fixes accordingly. Manage 'potential Sev1' incidents by leading a team of specialists and guiding them on complex issues. Challenge existing application setup and processing, and suggest alternate ways to solve problems or improve stability. Identify alerts and processes that can be automated and work with AppBank engineers to automate them. Adopt various tools developed by AppBank engineers to automate failures using machine learning techniques. Actively participate in change management process with view to manage risk in production environment. Build and improve run books for generalists to minimize operational errors and gain fungibility and efficiency. Develop reports that provide trending statistics to track and manage application health and support service performance. Must be willing to learn and troubleshoot/support proprietary technologies not available through market place. No knowledge of proprietary technologies is required pre-hire.

Job Requirements: Bachelor's or Master's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related Engineering field, such as Industrial Engineering. Seven (7) years of experience with a Bachelor's degree or five (5) years of experience with a Master's degree in the job offered or related position. Must have five (5) years of experience with: UNIX and Java; one of the following structured/object-oriented programing languages: Java, C, C++, VB, .NET or ASP; one of the following scripting languages: Shell scripts, Perl, Javascript, or Python; one of the following relational databases: Sybase, Oracle, DB2, SQL Server, or MS Access; and writing and debugging complex SQL code. Must have two (2) years of experience with: using Data Structures in complex applications; working as a technical production manager in the financial industry; the full software development lifecycle (SDLC), including requirements gathering, technical design, development, unit/integration/regression/user testing, and production deployment; leading teams in planning and prioritizing tasks and escalating concerns to senior stakeholders; utilizing knowledge of the trade lifecycle to understand technical requirements and communicate with end users; problem solving in a fast-paced and client-facing production environment by observing production failure patterns, identifying repeat problems, and suggesting alternative approaches when necessary to minimize client impact when there are system issues; and interacting with senior business and engineering stakeholders, including explaining technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
