SWIB is seeking an experienced Performance, Risk, & Strategy Research Analyst. The incumbent will play a critical role in benchmarking, performance, risk, and investment strategy metrics necessary for achieving absolute and relative risk/return goals for a sophisticated, multidimensional, leveraged portfolio. The person chosen for this role will collaborate with asset heads and portfolio managers on complex investment strategies while independently performing quantitative research, analyses, and verifications.

Essential activities:

  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of asset class business lines as it pertains to return, risk, and investment strategy impact/driver analysis
  • Apply modern portfolio theory, benchmark, and portfolio construction methodologies and risk analyses
  • Build logical performance frameworks for the asset allocation and quantitative research processes
  • Analytically support the portfolio management process through creation, maintenance, and delivery of key risk/return performance metrics
  • Support the oversight and reporting of investments limits and guidelines
  • Own and maintain the core set of performance metrics reporting and commentary
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on cross-functional systems and projects
  • Serve as power user of internal and external performance analytics platforms and systems
  • Perform, analyze, and deliver ad hoc reporting and analysis

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree preferred
  • Investment industry experience required
  • Advanced Excel and/or VBA experience
  • Experience working with the front office and knowledge of asset classes
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • An ability to be adaptive and thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment
