Power BI Developer

London | Hybrid (3 Days Onsite, Non-Negotiable) Inside IR35 | £600-£660 per day 6-Month Contract | Extension Potential

I'm supporting a leading consultancy on a major Risk Reporting transformation programme with MUFG, one of the world's largest financial institutions. We're looking for an experienced Power BI Developer to design, develop, and optimise enterprise-scale semantic models, dashboards, and reporting solutions across a complex data environment.

What we're looking for

The ideal Power BI Developer will have:

• Expert-level experience with Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service
• Extensive experience building and maintaining enterprise semantic models
• Advanced DAX, data modelling, and performance optimisation expertise
• Strong understanding of VertiPaq, composite models, aggregations, and query tuning
• Hands-on experience implementing Incremental Refresh and dataset partitioning
• Experience with Tabular Editor, DAX Studio, and XMLA endpoints
• Strong SQL and dimensional modelling skills
• Experience managing large-scale analytical datasets and reporting solutions
• Strong Python scripting experience for automation and semantic model refresh processes
• Experience with PowerShell, Power BI REST APIs, and administration
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• Knowledge of Power BI Premium and/or Microsoft Fabric

Desirable

• Financial Services or Risk Reporting experience
• Experience consuming data from Snowflake within Power BI
• Exposure to enterprise scheduling tools such as Control-M
• Experience with Azure Data Platform technologies and/or dbt
