Job Description:



On behalf of our client, Affinity is seeking a
Senior QA Automation Engineer / Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) for a 5-month contract. Candidates must be located in the Lower Mainland and available for hybrid work.



This role will support a custom solutions team focused on building, maintaining, and enhancing automated testing capabilities across enterprise applications. The successful candidate will have strong software development skills, deep testing expertise, and hands-on experience building automation frameworks from the ground up.




Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain test automation frameworks and reusable testing solutions.


• Write, review, and maintain automated test code using C# and Visual Studio.


• Create automated UI, API, regression, and performance testing solutions.


• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and support continuous testing initiatives.


• Debug test failures, investigate root causes, and work closely with development teams to resolve issues.


• Develop and execute automated and manual test cases across multiple applications and integrations.


• Participate in test strategy development, test planning, and quality assurance best practices.


• Contribute to quality metrics, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.


• Collaborate with developers, product owners, and stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle.


• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and release activities.


• Support release validation, deployment testing, and production verification activities.

Qualifications




Must-Haves

• Strong C# programming skills


• Deep understanding of testing methodologies


• Experience building and maintaining automation frameworks

Core Requirements

• Write and review automated test code (C# is mandatory)


• Strong experience with Visual Studio


• Build and own automation frameworks


• Integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines


• Debug test failures and identify root causes


• Perform API, UI, performance, and regression testing


• Contribute to test strategy and quality metrics
