Join Aviva's Cyber Protection Services team and play a key role in helping keep our customers, colleagues and business secure. You'll be part of a dedicated team of c yber security specialists responsible for managing and enhancing the cryptograph y services that underpin our technology estate.
This could be the perfect role if you have hands-on Public Key Infrastructure ( PKI ) experience, enjoy solving complex security challenges, and want to develop your expertise across key management and certificate automation within a large and complex organisation.
A bit about the job:
As a
Cryptography and PKI Security Specialist , you'll help govern and manage Aviva's encryption capabilities, including our PKI services, Hardware Security Modules (HSMs ) and key management platforms. You'll play an important role in maintaining secure, reliable operational services while helping identify and reduce cyber security risks across the business.
We're looking for someone with hands-on PKI operational experience, particularly around certificate lifecycle automation, and a strong interest in cryptography.
You'll work closely with technical teams, suppliers and stakeholders across Aviva, helping us strengthen our security controls and prepare for future cryptographic challenges and opportunities.
You'll also bring strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the confidence to engage with stakeholders and explain technical concepts in a clear and practical way.
Skills and experience we're looking for:
- Experience working in a cryptographic operations , with knowledge of cryptographic key handling processes, key ceremonies, segregation of duties and split-knowledge controls.
- Experience delivering and managing PKI services , using a Certificate Lifecycle Management platform, including successfully automating certificate lifecycles.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate effectively, solve problems, create clear documentation and present confidently to a range of audiences.
- Good understanding of cyber security standards and frameworks , alongside knowledge of security incident response and cyber risk management.
- Experience working with Thales technologies , including Cipher Trust Manager and Hardware Security Module (HSM) management, would be beneficial.

- Salary circa £55,000 (depending on location, skills, experience and qualifications)
