Description
As an apprentice, you'll gain experience across the teams, building a broad skill set in a supportive, fast-paced environment.
You'll work with a varied client base including sole traders, partnerships, limited companies, high earners, and property investors.
This is a varied role involving multiple assignments and regular client interaction, including handling queries, gathering information, and supporting clients with accounting software. You'll build strong technical knowledge alongside practical experience, with opportunities to work across the teams and broaden your experience as your career progresses.

Key Responsibilities
• Maintain accurate bookkeeping records using cloud accounting software (e.g. Xero).
• Prepare accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.
• Assist with the preparation of personal and corporation tax returns.
• Assist with tax compliance tasks, including gathering relevant data for tax returns, reviewing financial information, and ensuring that all documents are completed accurately and on time.
• Develop the ability to handle client queries and offer clear, concise responses.
• Support client service by ensuring tax documents and filings are completed correctly and in a timely manner.
• Build rapport with clients and support the development of long-term relationships.
• Collaborate with other departments to gather the necessary data for tax filings and client work.
• Attend training sessions, both internal and external, to further your knowledge of tax and accounting practices.
• Actively apply theoretical knowledge in practical settings and contribute to the team's success.
• Contribute to the firm's business growth by delivering excellent client service and supporting the firm's values.
• Actively participate in team activities, supporting colleagues and fostering a collaborative environment.

Key Requirements
• Strong academic background, including a minimum Grade 7 in GCSE Mathematics and Grade 6 in GCSE English (or equivalent).
• Willingness to learn and commit to professional development, including studying towards AAT and potentially further qualifications (e.g. ACA/ICAEW, ATT/CTA).
• Positive, proactive attitude with a high level of motivation and energy.
• Professional and mature approach when dealing with clients and colleague.

Additional Requirements
• Attention to detail and accuracy in handling numbers and financial data.
• Strong desire to learn and develop professionally in tax and accounting.
• Ability to work efficiently to meet deadlines.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Strong team player, dependable, and proactive.
