This position will be in-office in Houston, Texas. Our summer 2027 internships start mid to end of May and will run through the beginning of August.

Role Overview

We have an exciting internship in our Corporate Headquarters located in Houston, TX. The opportunity is one of the best experiences available, providing interesting and engaging work within a thriving group. The program offers real-world experience in data engineering, AI, and analytics, managed and delivered by the intern team with support from experienced engineers and project leaders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Application Development - Assist in designing, developing, testing, and enhancing internal applications using React, Node.js, and Python, following established engineering standards and development patterns.
  • AI-Assisted Software Engineering - Use approved AI coding assistants/Copilots to accelerate code generation, debugging, documentation, testing, and refactoring while learning appropriate validation and responsible-use practices.
  • API & Data Integration - Develop and consume REST APIs and integrate applications with enterprise data platforms and services, gaining experience with how applications interact with data engineering ecosystems.
  • Testing, CI/CD & DevOps - Contribute to automated testing, code quality checks, and GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines, including participating in pull requests, code reviews, and controlled application deployments.
  • Agile Team Delivery - Participate in the team's software development lifecycle, including requirements refinement, technical design, sprint activities, troubleshooting, documentation, and delivery of production-quality application features.

Requirements
  • Minimum 60 complete hours from an accredited college or university.
  • Grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher.
  • Pursuing a degree in MIS, Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or related field

Preferred
  • Full-Stack Development - Academic, project, internship, or personal-project exposure to JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Node.js, or Python and an understanding of basic web application architecture.
  • Generative AI & Developer Copilots - Exposure to GitHub Copilot or similar generative AI development tools, including an interest in prompt-driven development and understanding how generated code should be reviewed and validated.
  • Modern Software Engineering Practices - Familiarity with Git/GitHub, APIs, automated testing, CI/CD, cloud development, or DevOps concepts; direct GitHub Actions experience would be beneficial but not required.
