The survey says that reduced journey time is the most important factor, after a salary increase, that would tempt London's bankers to move to a new employer.

Of the bankers, consultants, lawyers and media and marketing professionals surveyed, bankers face the longest daily one-way commute - 56 minutes, compared with an average of 52 minutes.

When asked what an employer could do to encourage staff to stay with the company if it relocated, 14% of bankers, compared with an average overall of 5%, cited a reduced journey time as an important factor.
