Global figures from the Association of Executive Search Consultants show that financial services headhunters continued to suffer in Q1, but that their pain worsened at a slower rate.
Over the past year, financial services executive searches have fallen by a massive 41%. The pace of the reduction was (predictably) most dramatic in the fourth quarter of 2008, when the number of searches declined 22%.
In the first quarter of 2009, the quantity of financial services searches fell by a more moderate 13%. Instead, it was charity headhunters who suffered the greatest decline. Professional services headhunters actually became more busy.
