Seligman joined BZW from SG Warburg in 1995 and has been head of UK investment banking since 1996. He joined CSFB when it acquired the UK and European equities and M&A business of BZW in 1997. His promotion follows the successful integration of BZW's investment banking business with that of CSFB. Seligman previously spent 12 years at SG Warburg. Richard Gillingwater is to replace Seligman as head of UK investment banking. He joined the firm last year and has been head of continental European country coverage and co-head of European industry groups at CSFB. Andreas Buddenbrock has been appointed chairman of Merrill Lynch Germany. His previous role as head of investment banking in Germany will be split between Ernst Fassbender, who was previously a managing director in the Frankfurt office, and Colin Roy. Paul Nailor assumes Roy's former post as head of chemicals and pharmaceuticals. Nailor joins Merrill from Credit Suisse First Boston where he was head of chemicals and pharmaceuticals. Richard Girling, a member of Merrill's chemicals and pharmaceuticals team is now to head the healthcare team.
