Nath will be based in London and report to Michael Philipp, head of global equities. Barclays Capital has appointed William Lloyd as global head of its new index product group. Lloyd, formerly Barclays' head of strategy in New York, is charged with developing a family of indices used to measure the performance of Europe's corporate bond market. He will now be based in London. Henry Willmore, senior US economist at Barclays, will assume some of Lloyd's duties in New York. The London International Financial Futures and Options Exchange (Liffe) has appointed Dan Casey as managing director of marketing and development. Casey joins Liffe from mpct Solutions, the developer of transaction processing systems, where he was chief operating officer. DLJ Phoenix Private Equity has appointed Sir Ronald Hampel, chairman of United News and Media and Pat Barrett, chief executive of Smurfit Europe, to its advisory board. Richard Hayden has joined GSC Partners, the private equity arm of Goldman Sachs. The former senior Goldman Sachs banker, who retired last year after 31 years, joins as vice-chairman of GSC Partners and chairman of GSC Partners Europe. He is also a non-executive director of Abbey National and will be based in London. Fred Boettcher will replace Peter van der Lugt as chief executive at Van der Moolen, the Amsterdam-based market specialist. Van der Lugt is stepping down for personal reasons and in April will hand over to Boettcher, currently chief financial officer.
