Insight Investments, the asset management arm of HBOS, has hired six new staff for its 6.6bn (€9.7bn) property business.
Verónica Gallo-Alvarez has joined as director of European property from Harbert Management Corporation, the US-based opportunistic investor, where she was vice-president in the European real estate department.
At Harbert, she had primary responsibility for managing the European real estate fund, developing investment strategy and managing acquisitions.
Richard Walters joins Insight as a director on the industrial sector team.
Walters, a chartered surveyor, joins Insight from Legal and General Property where he was senior asset manager on the industrial property investment fund.
Oliver Swallow and Simon James join the retail sector team as associate directors. Swallow joins from Atis Real Wetheralls, the property adviser, where he worked on high street acquisitions and disposals, while James joins from property consultant GVA Grimley where he worked on the national investment team.
Also joining the retail sector team are assistant fund managers Joel Midda and Jessica Berney who will provide support to the retail property fund managers.
All six will be based in the UK.
Insight now has a team of over 60 people to support its range of 12 property funds. Its property business has grown from 3.7bn to 6.6bn over the past two years.
