A senior credit trader who left Deutsche Bank in May 2019 has just arrived at Bank of America.
Reuters reported Vikramdeep (Vikram) Gill's exit from Deutsche a few months ago. According to his LinkedIn profile, Gill has just joined Bank of America in London as a credit trader.
Gill spent nearly two and a half years on Deutsche's emerging markets credit team after joining from Mitsubishi UFJ in April 2017, where he was also a credit trader. After a good 12 months for DB's emerging market credit desk in 2018, Gill was one of several people tipped to be paid well for last year.
Even though Deutsche's redundancies are not expected to affect the credit trading division, Gill's exit still looks fortuitous given the ongoing restructuring at the German bank. Then again, Gill's entire career seems a litany of fortuitous moves. After starting out as an accounts assistant for 'The Padre' (his father), he took a string of jobs in trade support and operations before moving into trading, where he's slowly worked his way into a top-tier bank by changing jobs every couple of years.
