Derivatives salesman who left banking for salads gets big new role
Denis Dahan has a new role, and it is not to be mistaken for the sort of salad rolls for which he left his previous banking job.

Writing on social media, Dahan says he has become the deputy head of cross asset distribution for EMEA, excluding French-speaking countries, at Credit Agricole. It is a return to his "first passion," says Dahan.
Dahan's second passion was salad. He spent six years at BofA and two and a half years at Natixis, where he was latterly head of solutions sales for Europe, before leaving to run a salad roll business that he said would "shake the salad market." Kaleido Rolls had outlets in Canary Wharf, Harrods, St Paul's and King's Cross and the intention was to scale it to become a global operation, but its website is no longer functioning. Unfortunately, its inception in 2020 coincided with the pandemic and harsh trading conditions for food outlets.
Dahan spent the past year working in sales for Quant Insight after letting his salad aspirations go limp. He says Credit Agricole has been relaunching its equity derivatives activities.
It's unusual for salespeople to return after time out the market. However, Jean Victor-Demaison, the global co-head of equity solutions and cross asset distribution sales at the French bank previously worked with Dahan at SocGen and may have facilitated his comeback.
